An ocelot, a small wild cat which ranges from Arizona to Argentina and is sadly widely hunted for its beautiful coat and kittens. A present for my mother for mother's day, but I finished 6 days late. Reference used. I can notice a couple of flaws with the ears and the fact it has very low lighting. That light spot on the nose made alot of difference though ^^.
I'm having one of those "I am worthless days", but it's not as bad as I was last year... Heh, I just criticised myself so much then. It's a mystery how well I improved from the crap I pumped out then so fast. I think it's from constant study of techniques and whatever compliments I get, especially at school, so thanks to all of you, I appreciate your support ^^
I have to keep it up, or else I wouldn't have anything to do during music class and classes about Australian history ^^. It's the only thing I enjoy nowadays, which is a pity, cause me damned sketch book doesn't fit in my bag.
Thanks ^_^, those ears are really bugging me, but I'm going to leave them like that so I remember not to do the same next time. Is it the shading you mean or the placing (or both?)? I've never really shaded ears properly, so I dunno how they should look.
Well, I think they should be more symmetrical. The right ear is bigger than the left one and the left ear seems to be a lot closer to the viewer, because it starts at a totally different point of the head than the right one. So basically, the placing is off. The shading is okay.

Okay, thanks, I've got a better view of how they are mis-placed now. I only realised the off placing after I scanned it and hit myself for it. I was really striving with this one. Better luck next time eh?
Got some unscannable artwork? Own a camera but no scanner? Here's a guide of things to consider in order to effectively take quality photographs of your work. [A tutorial by `fox-orian]
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
